ALUMNI COLLEGE: CONFERRING OF BECAS 2018
The Colegio Mayor Aldaz, Goimendi, Goroabe and Olabidea celebrated the Conferring of Becas this Saturday, March 3rd. For the 2018 school year, 53 new scholars and 4 honorary fellows were appointed. A resident receives a “beca” during their third year living in an Alumni College residence.
The event took place in the auditorium of the Museum of the University of Navarre. Not only did fifty-three residents receive becas, but nineteen residents were also given end-of-degree recognition. Likewise, four new honorary fellows were recognized for their work and involvement in the residences. Aldaz Residence recognized Enrique Soto, director of Pamplona’s jail, while Goimendi Residence honored Juan Frommknecht, a lawyer, writer, and former Pamplona Town Hall councilman. Goroabe Residence recognized Bárbara Pérez-Solero, and Olabidea Residence honored Teresa Catalán, who recently won the National Music Award.
Rafael Pampillón Olmedo, Professor and Director of Economic Analysis, taught a master lesson which revolved around the Spanish and global economy. The event was chaired by the University of Navarre’s Vice-Rector of Students, Tomás Gómez-Acebo. He read the resume of the Alumni College Program activities carried out over the course of this 2017-2018 school year.
